Advising Mission

University-Wide Advising & Leadership

University Academic Advising and Advocacy Department provides central coordination for the Advising Network through the Provost Office to enhance the campus-wide student experience with academic advising in collaboration with colleges and departments who provide the oversight and delivery of advising services.

University Academic Advising coordinates the foundation for enhancing

  • Equitable student advising experiences,
  • Determining strategic outreach,
  • Utilizing data to increase the positive impact of advising services.

Lisa Dysleski

Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) for Academic Success and Advising

Responsibilities

  • Leadership, visioning, strategic planning, and implementing new initiatives to support the revised vision for academic advising.
  • Manage, supervise, and build partnerships to ensure student success and the implementation of the academic advising strategic plan and assessment.

Sean Wernert-Eighmy

Director of University Academic Advising Advocacy

Responsibilities

  • Supervision for the following areas:
    • Advising Training & Professional Development
    • Office of Academic Advocacy
  •  Advising assessment reports for the ASC/Advisor network inclusive of Advisor reports, communication data, appointment data, and unit reports
  • Chair University Committee on Academic Advising
  • Chair of the Navigate Governance Group
  • Chair of the Navigate Executive Leadership Group. 

Advising Training & Development Unit

Advising Training and Development Unit works to provide general, introductory foundations-of-advising information, professional resources, best-practice guides, and student success tools. Most resources are accessible to the CSU community. Some success tools and trainings are specific to an academic term, or event, and require additional training. This unit serves as application administrators for EAB Navigate student success software. Also, their main scope is to assist advisors to support students enrolled at CSU.

  •  Manage MS Teams and Advising at CSU website
  • Advising Orientation, Advising Summit and on-going development
